According to results of the last National Oral Health Survey conducted in 2001, more than 85 per cent of six-year-olds suffer from tooth decay. Together with the World Health Organization, the government recently implemented a salt ionisation programme to stop the spread of caries, especially in children. Its long-term school-based Oral Health Care Programme was introduced under the Linh government in the 1980s.

The Vietnamese government is doing well in its efforts to improve the oral health of school children, Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien has said. Speaking at the Sixth Asian Conference on Oral Health Promotion for School Children last week in Hanoi, she revealed that 10 million school children are now receiving regular dental care through the country’s national oral health programme.

Tien admitted that although the programme has achieved good results, still only 30 per cent of hospitals nationwide offer dental services. Most dental professionals are also based in cities, making it difficult for people living in rural areas to get any dental treatment at all, she said.

In recent years, FarEasdtal - vietnam dentistry center also has a positive leading participating dental health for children.

It is very important that you pick the Vietnam dental clinic you would be patronizing for your dental needs very carefully. The task may not be as simple as you may have initially thought, particularly when you require a certain type of dental work done. The price of not paying careful attention to your choice of dental clinic is too big to ignore, though. If you make your decision without weighing in your choices, you may sustain oral injuries. These injuries may be more expensive to treat than your original concerns about your dental health.

The first step you need to take in order to find an acceptable Vietnam dental clinic is to specify just what you want your dentists to do with your teeth. Is it regular dental care or something more specialized and cosmetic? Emergency dental care does not require a lot of thought, though. The pain will prompt you to head to the most convenient dental clinic around. But if you require cosmetic work done, it would be more prudent for you to select the clinic where you will get that dental cosmetic work done with a lot more care.

The kind of health insurance coverage you have is another aspect you must take a look at in selecting a Vietnam dental clinic. You have to find out if your health care includes dental care and if the clinic you want to patronize is among those your health care provider has an arrangement. You will also have to check if you are allowed to charge your provider with the dental work you want.

When it comes to finances, it would be great if your desired Vietnam dental clinic is accredited by your health insurance provider and if your health insurance provider covers the dental procedure you want. You can save a lot of money on the dental work that way.

But if the Vietnam dental clinic you are looking into is not accredited by your medical insurance, if your medical will not pay for the dental work you want, or if you do not have medical insurance at all, then you would be in a bind. You would have to pay the full amount of the dental bill. So, you should set a budget for your desired dental work and find a reputable dentist whose services fall within that budget you have set. You should also look into the payment options the dental clinic offers and see what options you can afford to take on.

You can easily find a Vietnam dental clinic if you possess health care insurance. You only need to take a look at your health care provider's accredited services. Maybe they provide dental care in-house, too. However, if you do not have health care, you should ask your family and friends to point you to a good dentist. You can definitely rely on these word-of-mouth recommendations.

The last step you must take requires you to pay a call on the Vietnam dental clinic you are thinking of patronizing. The visit is meant to give you a feel of the clinic's ambiance. Also, if you have the opportunity to talk to the dentist you would be working with, you should grab it. Check the dentist out and see if he or she really knows what he or she is doing.

It is absolutely essential that you make the right pick when it comes to dental clinics. It may not be as easy as it looks, but selecting the best Vietnam dental clinic for your dental care needs is a worthwhile use of your time. Doing so can save you a lot of money and a lot of trouble in the long run.

Dr. Quoc and his staff are amazing... He is a true artist and perfectionist which gave me a smile I can comfortably share with the world. I work with the public so my smile is an asset I use everyday.. 15 years ago I had veneers which were not flattering..they were visually “false teeth” and I was very conscious of their bad appearance..always careful not to smile too big, or if I did, to instantly reflex my hand in front of my face when I laughed or talked. I interviewed countless dentists who claim to “transform smiles” but I had been sold that tale before..I wanted proof and actual patients I could see and talk with that had a scenario similar to mine or worse..After meeting with Dr. Quoc and his staff I knew she was the answer to my long search. I live a state away but gladly made the trips and never regretted the journey. Today, I confidently smile and talk at ease with anyone thanks to Dr. Quoc and her fabulous staff..This transformation has truly changed my life, appearance and confidence level..my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! I am proud to say I am one of those horrible “before” scenarios with a great “after” scenario and I would gladly share my experience with anyone considering cosmetic dentistry in Vietnam . Without hesitation, I will tell you Dr. Quoc is a class act and the best in his field..Hands Down, No Comparison!
Whether you’re struck with toothache or looking for some cheap repair or enhancement work, dental clinics Ho Chi Minh City has its fair share of  willing to help.

Firstly, what’s available?
From a cosmetic point of view, teeth whitening is popular and is certainly much cheaper than in Western countries. The problem with teeth whitening is that you need a few repeat visits — not always possible when travelling — and ideally need to do some home treatments in between visits as well, but if you’re serious about it, it may be worth a few extra days in Hanoi. Just use the time to visit the surrounding areas: appointment 1, Cu Chi Hood , appointment 2, Vung Tau Beach , appointment 3, etc …
A visit to the hygienist seems to be all the rage back home, but comes at a price. In Ho Chi Minh City, expect to pay around US$20-25 for an appointment – and a fresh, clean mouth.
And if you do have an tooth emergency — broken crown, abscess, filling falls out, root canal work – they can be dealt with too. Orthodontic procedures are also available.

How to Choose an Individual Dental Plan

Many individual dental plans today cover only the basics such asteeth cleanings and some x-rays. However, many people need orwant a plan that will also pay for such dental treatment as
braces or whitening. For most people, they become their own individual dental plan as it becomes more cost effective to save for an uncovered procedure than to upgrade to a traditional dental plan that offers more coverage.

You will need to know if your dentist participates in the program. It does not really matter what the fees are for the plan if your dentist of choice is not on the list that they deal with. It is also a good idea to ask you dentist what dental plan he would recommend. He knows what you normally have done and how often, the dentist will also know what companies he participates in.

If you are having trouble finding a dental plan to suit your needs for the price you are willing to pay, speak with your dentist. Many dentists are willing to make payment arrangements with loyal clients.

Ask if they cover the types of procedures that you normally have performed by your dentist. If you are seeking a company with a plan to cover cleanings and fillings, it will be less expensive.

Like wise, if you want to have fluoride and x-rays paid for by your individual dental plan, it will cost you a little more.

When you are searching for a dental plan, it is important to work with a reliable provider. The best way to ensure this is to  ask them questions. You want a mailing address from them, not

just a P.O. Box; this will ensure that you are dealing with a real company. You need to know if they have a phone number and what hours they can be reached. When you get this number, give them a call back and ask some basic questions, this will give you and idea as to the level of customer service that you can expect in the future.
Can i have a dental brace in vietnam and then have some checks with dentists in australia? Because im in australia and want to have a lower cost dental brace in vietnam ?
Answers:
First I have a warning for you..... In any dentists surgery, in any country in the world, you can get a bad dental job. The risk of such in Asia is a higher.
However, that should not put you off, but you need to seek out a good dentist, and doing so is not hard if you ask the right people.

One suggestion is with your travel insurance company, ask them which dentists they recommend for emergency work. The dentists named are those they have checked out and have a proven track record.

Another method is to track down ex-pats living in Vietnam and ask their recommendations.

Patients with severe atrophy of the jaw are not typically considered good candidates for dental implants Vietnam . However, according to the latest research, a new type of implant introduced five years ago offers a solution. Combined with the All-on-4 concept for restoring edentulous jaws, the implant can benefit a wider range of patients, including those with degeneration of the bone in the upper or lower jaw.
Researchers from the Cleveland ClearChoice Dental Implant Center reported on the results of the All-on-4 treatment used with the NobelActive implant by Swiss-based dental manufacturer Nobel Biocare. After one to three years of follow-up of 227 implants, they found a cumulative implant survival rate of 98.7 per cent at the end of three years.
In the All-on-4 concept, four implants are used to support an acrylic, screw-retained provisional prosthesis, then a final prosthesis about four months later. Two of the implants are distally tilted in areas where bone height, nerve proximity, or other conditions make it impossible to place the implant axially. This tilting allows the placement of longer implants that have good anchorage in the best positions for prosthetic support.
Previously, standard practice called for dental implants of at least 4 mm in diameter. For tilted implants in particular, this was considered the smallest diameter that could guarantee sufficient anchorage. The NobelActive implant, introduced in 2008, made it possible to use a 3.5 mm diameter implant for patients with atrophic jaws.
With a variable thread and an inward-tapered collar, this tapered implant is self-drilling and condenses bone gradually. High torque values can be achieved, giving the implant high initial stability.
Previous studies have found that failed implants using the All-on-4 method were a result of soft bone and lower insertion torque values. The combination of a 3.5 mm diameter implant and the All-on-4 technique offers new treatment possibilities for patients with severe bone deficiencies.
The study, titled “A new approach to the All-on-Four treatment concept using narrow platform NobelActive implants”, was published in the June issue of the Journal of Oral Implantology.
Far East Dental
I just wish to pass on to other Dental Tourism Vietnam in or due to come to HCMC.
Everyone loves the idea to come to another country to have dental work performed at a lesser cost then our home countries, including myself.. " America " the dentist in USA have what I call a " professional " Licencse to steal, rob, over charge, whatever we wish to call it!
With this being said who can truely afford good dental care ?
So like everyone else in the world we all head to someplace cheaper to perform the services we need !
After living in HCMC for the past 6 months for my Dental Care the time came when I needed to have surgery performed,, so please everyone who is reading This post take what I am about to tell you as more important then any amount of money you will Save.
After sitting in the dentist chair and waiting for him to begin my surgery/ Dental work , I just began to look around and start observing handling and clean sanitary practices and procedures from Dental Assistants , I was shocked as no Masks were being worn, gloves and in general the condition of the Clean surgery room was in. The I've head lamp in the chair I was sitting in had stains , the water
spitting bowl had sediment from another patient or patients ! The operating tools / impliments
fir my surgery were being removed from a Auto Mechanincs Tool Box ! Loosley thrown in the
box may I say! Nothing was sealed and removed from the " Auto Clave" AKA .. Sterile disinfecting Machine!! After I asked the Dental Assistant about my concerns she looked at me like I was crazy! And then led me over to the Auto Clave for further inspection.
What I witnessed my eyes could not believe, sealed surgical tools that were rusted , and still covered with existing Dried Blood from previous Patients !!!
Blood Born Pathogens " HIV" Hepatitis - A, B and C.
They had little concern or maybe were unaware of these silent killers that can be transferred from one Patient to another ... Silently !
I jumped out of the chair and told everyone that this is not in compliance with Americas Standards for dentistry or Health care what so ever! I may not be a dentist by occupation , but I am surely blessed with common Sense and observation skills to know I was pointing a Gun at my head if I was going to remain in the seat!
I was hoping to save money just like everyone else, but now I think about this more an more to save $1000 or $9,000 my life is still worth a whole lot more then any amount I can save!
I will not mention the Dental office or the Dentist Name my intention here is not to hurt anyone, just make you aware!
